Matt Boyd welcomed in Detroit as Tigers slip past Royals, 2-1
Matt Boyd, one of the three new pitchers to join Detroit in the last week of the trading deadline, pitched seven strong innings to help the Tigers to a 2-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals.
Boyd allowed just one run, seven hits, and no walks. In the 4th inning, Ian Kinsler hit the ball into right-centerfield to score on Victor Martinez's groundout, which gave Detroit the lead & ultimately the win.
The Tigers will wrap up their three-game series with Kansas City at Comerica Park this Thursday afternoon at 1 pm.
