Red Wings redeem alumni with 5-3 win over Avs in Stadium Series
Brad Richards scored the winning goal with a minute remaining in the game as the Detroit Red Wings, who saw their alumni fall 5-2 last night, defeated the Colorado Avalanche in the Stadium Series, 5-3, at Coors Field (home of MLB's Colorado Rockies) in the NHL's warmest regular season outdoor game (50 degrees).
Tomas Tatar, Gustav Nyquist, and Justin Abdelkader also scored for Detroit and Darren Helm added an empty-netter to seal the win.
The Red Wings will head back indoors for the rest of the season as they wrap up their weekend road trip with a visit to Dallas to take on the Stars this Monday night at 8:30 pm ET.
