Another walkoff plagues Tigers as Indians win, 3-2
Cabrera won the game, but not Detroit's Miguel. It was Cleveland's Orlando Cabrera, whose third hit of the game was a RBI single in the 13th inning, lifted the Indians to another walkoff win over the Tigers, 3-2, handing Detroit its fifth straight loss.
Detroit had a chance to take the lead in the top of the inning when Miguel Cabrera hit a leadoff double into the leftfield corner. But Cabrera was stranded at second after a Brennan Boesch foul out to first and fly ball outs to center by Ryan Raburn and Jhonny Peralta.
The teams combined for 29 strikeouts, 17 by Tigers pitching. Tigers relief pitcher Al Alburquerque struck out six over three perfect innings of relief.
The Tigers finished the month of April in 3rd place in the AL Central with a record of 12-15. Detroit will try to avoid a sweep this Sunday afternoon against the Indians while they look towards having a better month in May.
