Red Wings put out Flames in shootout
The Red Wings continue to have a good time on their western Canadian trip as they beat the Calgary Flames 5-4 in a shootout. With the help of Patrick Eaves' last-second power play goal in the 2nd period & Brian Rafalski's goal in the 3rd to tie the game, the Wings were able to hold on until Todd Bertuzzi was the only player to score in the shootout to help Detroit gain another victory. Jimmy Howard earned another hard fought win with 35 saves. However, the Wings did not escpae Calgary unharmed. Midway through the 3rd period, Brad Stuart suffered a broken jaw from Calgary's Tom Kostopoulis. At this time, it is unknown when he will return. Coach Mike Babcock did have good news for Wings fans: Chris Osgood will go for win #402 when he faces the Canucks in Vancouver tonight.
