It's utterly hard to spot a team with an early lead like the Detroit Titans did against the Cleveland State Vikings and hope to win games. Unfortunately for UDM, that was the case in a 66-61 loss to CSU.

The Titans were down 10-2 early and worked their way back in the first half with a 12-2 run to tie the game at 12. The senior leadership of the Vikings took over as D'Aundray Brown led the team in the half with nine points and held Detroit's top guard Chase Simon to just six points for twenty minutes and also the game itself.

Clecveland State led 37-31 at halftime and led as much as 14 in the 2nd half, leading 58-44, but the Titans rushed back with a 13-2 run of their own, thus cutting the Vikings lead to 60-57. However, a critical three-point play by senior guard Jeremy Montgomery put Cleveland State up 63-57 with under three minutes left.

Doug Anderson led Detroit with 17 points and Ray McCallum finished the game with 14 points. Despite the two straight Horizon League losses this weekend, the Titans will attempt to get back to their winning ways when they face St. John's this Monday night at Calihan Hall with Detroit legend Dick Vitale making a special appearance.

Detroit Titans head coach Ray McCallum gave his thoughts after the game and also expressed his feelings about having Dick Vitale appear at Calihan Hall this Monday
