A Penny for the Tigers
A Penny for the Tigers
The Tigers have added a new pitcher to the lineup in the form of Brad Penny. Penny has agreed to a one-year, $3 million contract and is said to take over the 5th spot in the rotation while Armando Galarraga might end up as a long reliever if Penny passes his physical. The 32-year old right hander suffered a minor back injury last season with the St. Louis Cardinals after his 9 starts , in which he posted a 3-4 record with an ERA of 3.23. If all goes well for Penny , he'll join the likes of Justin Verlander & Max Scherzer in the bullpen. Before he started having injury problems in 2008 with Boston, Penny helped the Florida Marlins win the World Series in 2003 & became an All-Star in '06 and '07 with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
