Late rally gets FSU past ND in Champs Sports Bowl, 18-14
The Florida State Seminoles scored 18 unanswered points, all in the 4th quarter, to cap off their nine-win season by defeating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 18-14 at the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando, Florida.
E.J. Manuel threw two touchdown passes, and Dustin Hopkins made two field goals to help to the Seminoles earn their fourth straight bowl victory and second straight under head coach Jimbo Fisher.
Despite going 3-for-14 on third downs, Florida State finished the game with 290 yards and got an efficient night from Manuel, who played behind a young offensive line, but was 20 for 31 passing for 249 yards.
