Tigers resigned Joel Zumaya for a one-year deal
The Detroit Tigers announced the club has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with righthanded pitcher Joel Zumaya, thus avoiding arbitration.
Zumaya appeared in 31 games for the Tigers during the 2010 season, posting a 2-1 record, 2.58 ERA (38.1IP/11ER) and 34 strikeouts before landing on the disabled list for remainder of the season on June 29 with a non-displaced fracture of the olecranon.
In five seasons at the major league level with the Tigers, Zumaya has compiled a 13-12 record, 3.05 ERA (209.2IP/71ER) and 210 strikeouts in 171 appearances. He has limited opponents to a .218 batting average (169x777) during his major league career.
Zumaya has fanned 9.01 batters per nine innings throughout his career with the Tigers, the highest strikeout rate among all club relievers with at least 100 appearances since the start of the 1953 season.

When is Tigerfest? I have been a tiger fan since the George Kell Days in the 1950's. Can we see them anywhere else besides Comerica Park? What a job you guys are doing! Found you guys on Facebook.
