Blues advance; 'Hawks survive; low seed teams lead 3-2

Craig Anderson stopped 41 shots and made Jason Spezza's first-period goal & empty-netter stand out as the 8th-seed Ottawa Senators pushed the top-seeded New York Rangers to the brink of elimination with a 2-0 victory to lead the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series 3-2.




Jamie Langenbrunner and David Perron scored in a 45-second span in the third period as the St. Louis Blues put away the San Jose Sharks, 3-1 and wrap up their Western Conference quarterfinal series 4-1.




The Blackhawks scored another tying goal in the third period and Jonathan Toews sealed the deal by scoring 2:44 into overtime that helped Chicago avoid elimination with a 2-1 win over the Phoenix Coyotes. Trailing the Western Conference quarterfinal series 3-2, the Blackhawks will have a chance to even the series this Monday night in Chicago for Game 6.
