SUNDAY, JULY 29 - Kimberly Rhode, 33 years old, became the first American athlete to win an individual medal in five straight Olympics, winning gold and setting an Olympic record for the highest score in the Skeet Shooting Olympic Finals with a 99-out-of-100. The previous mark was 93.
She won gold in double trap shooting in 1996 and 2004, and bronze in the event in 2000. That sport was dropped for the 2008 Beijing Games, so Rhode moved over to skeet shooting, where she captured the silver medal.
