The Detroit Tigers earned a much-needed win against the Chicago White Sox, 5-3, and are now two games back for the AL Central Division lead. With the White Sox still holding the magic number of 20, Detroit will look to build momentum off of this win Wednesday night against Chicago.


AL EAST - Baltimore continues to keep pace with the N.Y. Yankees after their 9-2 win against Tampa Bay to once again share the lead in the division, combined with the Yankees' 4-3 loss to Boston.

AL WEST - Even though both Texas & Oakland won, the Rangers reduced their magic number to 19 while the A's remain three games back behind first place.

AL WILD CARD - Losing to Baltimore pushed Tampa Bay back two games back in the wild card race with a magic number of 20 against them.

NL EAST - Washington improved their magic number to 13 with a 5-3 over the N.Y. Mets while Atlanta was shut out by Milwuakee, 5-0.

NL CENTRAL - The Cincinnati Reds continue to pursue the division title after defeating Pittsburgh, 5-3 to hold the magic number of 10 against St. Louis , who lost to San Diego, 6-4.

NL WEST - San Fracisco reduced their magic number to 15 after a hard-fought 9-8 win over Colorado while the L.A. Dodgers were shut out by Arizona, 1-0.

NL WILD CARD - Even though Atlanta, St. Louis, & the L.A. Dodgers lost, the Braves & Cardinals improved their magic number to 20.
