Titan women fall hard in OT against Loyola
The Titans fought hard throughout the game, but went cold in overtime as they lose a tough one to Loyola, 88-77. Detroit had to rally from behind after trailing by 18 points in the middle of the 2nd half, and with 6.6 seconds remaining in regulation, Dominique Dixon, who finished the game with 27 points, hit a big three-pointer to send the game into overtime. However, OT felt like the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half for the Titans as they went cold while Loyola shot well. The Ramblers held the Titans to only 14% shooting in overtime, which allowed them to make key layups and draw crucial fouls. Three other Titans finished in double digits, including Yar Shayok with 14 points & 15 rebounds. The women (9-10, 3-4 HL) fall below .500 for the first time since early December, but will look to be even in the standings when they play their other Chicago opponent, UIC, this Saturday from Calihan Hall at 2 pm.
As for the men, they will be live on ESPNU this Friday night when they take on Milwaukee on the road at 9 pm ET.
