Despite a crushing 12-4 defeat at the hands of the Oakland A's, the Detroit Tigers are still two games behind the Chicago White Sox, who lost to Kansas City, 4-3. Even though the magic number of 12 is against them, the Tigers will look to catch up to the Sox in the AL Central Division this weekend when they host Minnesota in a 3-game series at Comerica Park.

NL CENTRAL - Cincinnati & St. Louis both won their respective games, the Reds now have a magic number of 2 and could win the division Friday with a win over the L.A. Dodgers & a St. Louis loss to the Chicago Cubs.

NL WEST - Taking advantage of the L.A. Dodgers losing to Washington, San Francisco defeated Colorado, 9-2, and reduced their magic number to 3. The Giants are on pace to win the division by the end of the weekend.

NL EAST - With Washington defeating the L.A. Dodgers, 4-1, the Nationals now have a one game lead over the idle Atlanta Braves and improved their magic number to 8.

AL WILD CARD - With the L.A. Angels losing to Texas, 3-1, they now have a magic number of 9 against them with Oakland & Baltimore holding on to the top spots in the wild card race.

AL WEST - Texas & Oakland both won, but the Rangers reduced their magic number to 10 and still hold a four-game lead over the A's.

NL WILD CARD - The Milwaukee Brewers jumped in front of the L.A. Dodgers with a 9-7 win over Pittsburgh and became next in line to compete for the top spots in the race, currently held by Atlanta & St. Louis, who have a magic number of 11.

AL EAST - With Baltimore idle, the N.Y. Yankees defeated Toronto, 10-7, to take a one-game lead over the Orioles and improve their magic number to 13.
