Lynx slip by Sparks to return to the WNBA Finals, 80-79

At the Staples Center, the Minnesota Lynx claimed an 80-79 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks for a 2-0 sweep of the Western Conference Finals. Seimone Augustus scored 21 points, Maya Moore added 20, and Lindsay Whalen finished 17 for the Lynx, who trailed by 10 points early in the 4th quarter and came in with a 4-21 record in Los Angeles.

Minnesota's Monica Wright came off the bench to answer L.A.'s Candice Parker's 3-pointer with one of her own to put the Lynx back in front, 80-79, and singlehandedly outscored the Sparks' bench, 8-0.

The Western Conference champion Minnesota Lynx now await the winner of the Eastern Conference Finals between Connecticut and Indiana. Currently, Connecticut leads the series 1-0 and could wrap up the East this Monday night in Indiana.
