It takes the Tigers to come home and open the bats up and take care of a old friend the New York Yankees 8-3. Prince Fielder had two homers one in the bottom of fifth inning to take back the lead for Detroit 5-3 a three run shot. Then Capped a five RBI day with a two run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Doug Fister pitched five innings for the win allowed six hits and three runs, then Drew Smyly came in did so well pitching the final four innings for the save allowing no hits and walks and striking out five.
