Angels pound Tigers, 8-1, in opener of weekend series

Peter Bourjos had three hits & three RBIs and Mike Trout & Albert Pujols drove in two runs apiece as the Los Angeles Angels dominated with an 8-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers.

Hunter, a former Angel, extended his hitting streak to 12 games after receiving a standing ovation in his first night back in Anaheim. Hunter acknowledged the cheers with a tip of his batting helmet to the stands and the Angels' dugout before hitting a single to improve his average to .422.

The Tigers will look to do much better this Saturday afternoon when they face the Angels at 3 pm.
