The Houston Astros avoid the season sweep against the Detroit Tigers defeating them 7-5 Wednesday afternoon at Comerica Park. The Tigers went up early, building a 4-1 lead into the fourth inning when the Astros struck back. J.D. Martinez homered to put Houston up 5-4. Matt Tuiasosopo singled in Victor Martinez to tie the game in the sixth inning at 5-5. Phil Coke gave up two runs in the top of the ninth that would prove to be the difference, as the Tigers failed to score with the bases loaded, when Miguel Cabrera hit a deep out to centerfield caught by Brandon Barnes to end the game.
