Lions trying for three in a row against the Dolphins this Sunday
Only one streak matters now for the Detroit Lions: They’ve won two games in a row.
The Lions snapped their NFL-record streak of 26 road losses Sunday when they beat Tampa Bay 23-20 in overtime. Detroit also beat Green Bay at home the previous weekend. They are the team’s first back-to-back wins since midway through the 2007 season, when the Lions started 6-2.
They’ve gone 7-47 since then.
The Lions are showing signs of improvement even with their top two quarterbacks hurt. Drew Stanton took the snaps Sunday and led Detroit to a tying field goal on the final play of regulation. Dave Rayner then won it with a 34-yard field goal in overtime.
