Infante shines as Tigers take down Indians again, 10-5
With Miguel Cabrera out of the lineup to rest his abdominal wall strain, the Detroit Tigers used Ramon Santiago at third base and Omar Infante’s bat for a 10-5 victory over the Cleveland Indians at Comerica Park.
Infante had a three-run homerun in the 2nd inning, his eighth of the season, and added a two-run shot in the 6th inning off Indians reliever Bryan Shaw to power the offense. Austin Jackson hit a two-run triple in the 8th inning and scored on a sacrifice, fielder’s choice bunt by Jose Iglesias, beating the throw from pitcher Cody Allen.
Detroit looks to sweep Cleveland again this season as they wrap up the weekend series this Sunday afternoon at 1 pm inside Comerica Park.
