Chemistry a huge part of the Red Wings Success Empty Chemistry a huge part of the Red Wings Success

The Red Wings' second line of Johan Franzen, Valtteri Filppula and Todd Bertuzzi, with its size, speed and skill, was their top line in many games earlier this season.
But the unit has struggled lately, prompting coach Mike Babcock to break it up and spread the players out over three lines in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to Dallas. He'll keep things the same way Wednesday, when the Wings host Vancouver.
Babcock is hoping that Bertuzzi gets back on track playing with Henrik Zetterberg and Dan Cleary. Bertuzzi has one point (an assist) in eight games. He has a minus-11 rating during that stretch, taking his once team-best plus-13 to a plus-2.
Johan Franzen has 14 goals but hasn't been consistent. Babcock hopes he gets going on a line with Pavel Datsyuk and Tomas Holmstrom.
Valtteri Filppula, the former center on the second line, is now centering the third line. He has two points (both assists) in nine games and has a minus-3 rating during that stretch.
