American takes down Boston U. to win Patriot League title
The American Eagles, who were picked to finish ninth in the conference standings, are headed back to the NCAA Tournament after defeating the Boston Terriers, 55-36, to become the 2014 Patriot League champions. It's American University's third conference title in seven years.
American junior point guard Darius Gardner scored a game-high 18 points, hitting 7-of-9 from the field, while adding two 3-pointers & four assists. Senior center Tony Wroblicky was AU's other double-digit scorer with 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.
The Eagles will learn this Sunday evening where they will be seeded in the NCAA Tournament.
