Rangers eliminate Montreal in six to win East Finals, 1-0
Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist stopped all 18 shots that came his way as Dominic Moore's 2nd period goal was the only offense in the New York Rangers' 1-0 victory over the Montreal Canadiens in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Rangers, who spent parts of the season wondering if they would make the playoffs, are in the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since winning the title 20 years ago. As for Lundquist, he is in the Finals for the first time in his nine-year career.
The Stanley Cup Finals will begin this Wednesday night at either Chicago or Los Angeles. Currently the Western Conference Finals are tied at three and Game 7 is set for Sunday night in Chicago.
