Spurs too hot for Heat as they take Game 1 of Finals, 110-95
San Antonio handled the conditions and Miami as Tim Duncan had 21 points & 10 rebounds to help the Spurs literally beat the Heat, 110-95, in Game 1 of the NBA Finals at a steamy AT&T Center.
While certain Miami players complained of cramps due to an air-conditioning failure that made it feel like a sauna (90 degrees to be exact), the Spurs & their fans battled through the conditions by pulling away to win the opener of the first Finals rematch since 1998. Manu Ginobili had 16 points & 11 assists and Tony Parker added 19 points & eight assists as the Spurs, who are 6-for-6 in winning Game 1 of the NBA Finals, shot 59%.
Game 2 will be played this Sunday night at 8 pm in San Antonio.
