Royals continue extra inning magic with 8-6 win over O's
In typical Royal fashion this postseason, the game ended in the 10th inning when Alex Gordon homered and Mike Moustakas adding a two-run shot to help Kansas City defeat the Baltimore Orioles, 8-6, in the opener of the American League Championship Series.
Kansas City is 5-0 this postseason and have won four of them in extra innings. This best-of-seven series was billed as Kansas City's speed against Baltimore's power, but the Royals didn't steal a base and hit all of the game's three homeruns.
Game 2 will be this Saturday afternoon at 4 pm when rookie right-hander Yordano Ventura makes his second postseason start for the Royals against Baltimore's Bud Norris.
