Defensive battle goes to Arizona as Lions go down, 14-6
Starting quarterback & Michigan State alumni Drew Stanton threw for two touchdowns and Arizona's defense prevented Detroit from scoring a touchdown, which was the first time in five years, as the Cardinals slipped past the Lions, 14-6, to improve to an NFL-best 9-1.
Wide receiver Calvin Johnson had five catches for 59 yards for the Lions, but only had one for 4 yards in the 1st half. Place kicker Matt Prater scored the only points for Detroit with two field goals, including a 50-yard field goal that hit the left upright and bounced through.
The Lions' road trip continues as they head to New England next Sunday afternoon to face Michigan alumni Tom Brady & the Patriots at 1 pm.
