Michigan State prevails in Ann Arbor; EMU women survive

Branden Dawson had 23 points & 13 rebounds as the Michigan State Spartans finished a regular-season sweep of the Michigan Wolverines with an 80-67 victory. MSU shot 62% from the field to earn their first victory in Ann Arbor since 2010.
Travis Trice contributed with 22 points and seven assists for the Spartans while Zak Irvin led the Wolverines with 16 points.
This Sunday, MSU (18-8, 9-4 Big Ten) will travel to Illinois to take on the Fighting Illini at 7:30 pm while Michigan (13-13, 6-8 Big Ten) stays at Crisler Center to face their Big Ten arch-rival Ohio State at 1 pm.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles improved to 13-10 (6-6 MAC) after surviving against the Miami (OH) RedHawks on the road, 54-51.
Despite the Eagles shooting just 31% from the floor, sophomore Cha Sweeney scored a team-best 16 points while senior Jamaica Bucknor finished the night with 12 points.
Eastern Michigan will head to Athens this Wednesday night to take on the Ohio Bobcats at the Convocation Center. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
