Tigers win shootout with Indians, 9-6, to remain undefeated
Ian Kinsler hit an RBI single and Yoenis Cespedes doubled in two runs during Detroit's four-run 9th inning as the Tigers remained undefeated with a 9-6 victory over the Cleveland Indians.
Kinsler's fourth hit -- a single off closer Cody Allen (0-1) -- snapped a 5-all tie and helped the Tigers improve to 5-0 for the first time since 2006. Miguel Cabrera finished the evening off with four hits for Detroit, who have now outscored their opponents, 39-11.
The Tigers will wrap up their three-game weekend series with Cleveland this Sunday afternoon at 1 pm.
