GAME 4 - Ducks sweep; Sens survive; NYR up 3-1; STL tie series
Mike Hoffman scored midway through the 3rd period as the Ottawa Senators avoided elimination & a sweep by shutting out the Montreal Canadiens, 1-0. Goalie Craig Anderson made 28 saves to help the Senators' cut Montreal's lead to 3-1 in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals. The series returns to Montreal for Game 5 this Friday night at 7 pm.
Kevin Hayes scored at 3:14 of overtime to give the New York Rangers a 2-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins to gain a 3-1 lead in their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. Game 5 will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York this Friday night at 7 pm.
Vladimir Tarasenko scored twice as the St. Louis Blues dominated the Minnesota Wild for 6-1 victory in Game 4 to even the Western Conference quarterfinal series at two. St. Louis will host Game 5 this Friday night at 9:30 pm ET.
Ryan Kesler scored twice in the 3rd period as the Anaheim Ducks completed the four-game sweep in defeating the Winnipeg Jets, 5-2. Anaheim, the top seed in the West, will move on to the conference semifinals to face either Calgary or Vancouver. Currently, Calgary leads their series, 3-1, with Game 5 to be played in Vancouver this Thursday night at 10 pm ET.
