A-Rod hits #3000 with HR as Tigers fall to Yankees, 7-2

Alex Rodriguez hit a homerun for his 3,000th career hit as the New York Yankees defeated the Detroit Tigers, 7-2.
Detroit's starting pitcher Justin Verlander, who became a victim of A-Rod's history-making hit in the 1st inning, gave up six runs and 10 hits in 6 & 2/3 innings while falling to 0-4 at the new Yankee Stadium. To add to the woes, Miguel Cabrera's streak of consecutive games with an RBI ended at six.
The Tigers will look to bounce back against the Yankees this Saturday night at 7 pm.
