CMU struggles; Utah spoils Harbaugh's coaching debut
Central Michigan took a 13-10 lead early in the 3rd quarter before the Oklahoma State Cowboys scored the game's final 14 points to come away with a 24-13 win over the Chippewas in the season opener for both teams.
CMU head coach John Bonamego made his coaching debut just 13 days after his final radiation treatment for tonsil cancer. Cooper Rush's 16-yard rushing score was the only touchdown for Central.
The Chippewas (0-1) will remain at home in Mt. Pleasant to host Monmouth next Saturday afternoon (Sept. 12) at 3 pm.
The Utah Utes opened the 2015 season by spoiling Jim Harbaugh's Michigan coaching debut with a 24-17 victory over the Wolverines.
U-M's starting quarterback Jake Rudock threw three interceptions against Utah and finished 27-for-43 for 279 yards & two touchdowns. Michigan was held to 355 yards, gaining only 76 on the ground. 80 of those yards came on Michigan's final drive of the game.
The Wolverines (0-1) will make their way back home to The Big House in Ann Arbor next Saturday (Sept. 12) when they take on Oregon State at noon.
