Tigers go flat after 1st inning in loss to Texas, 6-2
Adrian Beltre hit the first of three homeruns for Texas as the Rangers pulled away to defeat the Detroit Tigers, 6-2. With the victory, the Rangers are at least one win away from clinching the AL West division.
Detroit's starting pitcher Matt Boyd (1-6) allowed all three Texas homeruns while giving up seven hits in just 2 & 2/3 innings while striking out two batters. On the bright side, it's the second time within the month that Detroit has not allowed a team to clinch a division in their presence.
The Tigers will finish off the 2015 season with a three-game weekend series against their division rival White Sox in Chicago. The first game is set for this Friday night at 8 pm.
