SmackDown - March 4, 2011 - Cleveland, OH

SmackDown started with the World Heavyweight Champion Edge discussing his contract signing for later with Alberto Del Rio and the firing of Vicki Guerrero from last week. Just then, Drew McIntyre ran down & attempted to assault Edge before being thrown out of the ring. Immediately afterwards, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long announced that McIntyre would face Edge one-on-one. A competitive match, but after Edge speared McIntyre, he sent a message to Del Rio by making Drew tap out to win the match.




After mocking Rey Mysterio's entrance by wearing his mask, "Dashing" Cody Rhodes made a challenge to Rey for a 1-on-1 match at WrestleMania XXVII and promised that if Rey accepted, he would take off the mask & expose Mysterio's face to the world.




In a rematch for the WWE Tag Team Championship, Corre members Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater defended their titles against Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov. A great match until the rest of the Corre (Wade Barrett & Ezekiel Jackson) distracted Santino long enough for Slater to execute a reverse DDT and get the win to remain Tag Team champions.




After he came down to the lyrics "Ain't no grave can hold my body down", The Undertaker stated that he had great respect for Triple H, but at the same, warned him that it would not be easy breaking his streak at WrestleMania XXVII.




In divas tag team action, Beth Phoenix & Rosa Mendez took on Lay-Cool, who seemed to have some disagreements over the past few weeks. Both Beth & Rosa worked on Michelle McCool's "injured" foot, but as the match came to a close, when Layla was in trouble, McCool took advantage of her foot protector to kick Beth Phoenix in the head. From there, Layla made the cover and whatever issues they had in the past, quickly went away as they celebrated.




Before Jack Swagger faced off against JTG, Michael Cole, who is Swagger's trainee for his match with Jerry "The King" Lawler at WrestleMania XXVII, stated that he would announce the special guest referee this Monday night on Raw. As the match between Swagger & JTG progressed, Cole stood the whole time, cheering on his trainer. The match soon came to an end as Swagger made JTG tap out to the ankle lock.




In a colossial match, the Big Show took on Kane. As the two battled, the Corre came down and handed Kane a chair. From there, Kane decided to use it on the Big Show, causing a disqualification. Seconds later, the Corre rushed in the ring & assaulted the Big Show. When Big Show pushed Gabriel into Kane, the big red machine used the chair on Justin, thus clearing the ring & leaving the Corre confused.




With Teddy Long present, Edge & Alberto Del Rio signed the contract for their World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania XXVII. Afterwards, Teddy Long sensed something was going to go down, and as soon as he rushed out of the ring, Edge attacked Alberto. Before Edge could finish him off, Del Rio's personal ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez, distracted him long enough for Alberto to knock him out of the ring & give him a bloody nose. Before Del Rio could do any more damage to Edge's arm, Christian ran down & unloaded on Alberto before officials seperated the two.
