Izzo gets win #500; Michigan destroys Charlotte; WMU loses
Denzel Valentine had a triple-double of 29 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists as the Michigan State Spartans defeated the Boston College Eagles, 99-68, in an opening-round game of the DirectTV Wooden Legacy, giving head coach Tom Izzo his 500th career victory.
Valentine's six 3-pointers were one of his career highs and his points total was a career best. Tum Tum Nairn added 13 points and eight assists for MSU, who shot 63% and dominated in rebounding, 38-20. Michigan State also hit 69% from the field in the 2nd half.
The Spartans' next game at the Wooden Legacy in Fullerton, California is against Boise State this Friday evening at 5 pm.
