Helm leads late charge as Red Wings defeat Montreal, 3-2
Darren Helm's second goal with 6:01 left in the 3rd period was just enough for the Detroit Red Wings to earn a 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens to extend their point streak to 12 games.
Justin Abdelkader scored the game-tying goal in the 3rd period before Helm's game-winner and goaltender Petr Mrazek made 21 saves for Detroit, whose point streak matches their longest since 2010.
In less than 24 hours, the Red Wings will head to New Jersey to take on the Devils this Friday night at 7 pm.
