Michigan women take early exit after loss to Iowa, 97-85
Sophomore guard Katelynn Flaherty scored 31 points to become Michigan's all-time single-season scoring leader, but it wasn't enough as the Wolverines were eliminated in the 2nd round of the 2016 Big Ten women's tournament by the Iowa Hawkeyes, 97-85, inside Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Michigan led by as many as 16 points in the 1st quarter, but Iowa shot 81% in the 2nd quarter to take over the game. Freshman Hallie Thome had 15 points (all in the 1st half) and senior Madison Ristovski finished with 10 points.
While the Wolverines (17-13) return home to Ann Arbor to see if they'll even be in the postseason, U-M's in-state rival Michigan State will be set to take on Purdue in the quarterfinals this Friday night around 9 pm ET.
