Sharks eliminate their rival Kings in five games, 6-3
Joonas Donskoi broke a tie with his second goal early in the 3rd period as the San Jose Sharks wrapped up their 1st round playoff series with a 6-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings in Game 5.
Chris Tierney & Matt Nieto scored early goals and Joe Pavelski got another late score for San Jose, who overcame their past playoff failures against Los Angeles and advanced to the 2nd round for just the second time since 2011.
The Sharks now await the winner of the Anaheim-Nashville series, which is currently tied at two. If the Ducks win, the 2nd round will begin in Anaheim, but if Nashville wins, San Jose will have home-ice advantage in the next round.
