Penguins knock out Rangers in 1st round after five games, 6-3
The Pittsburgh Penguins exploded in the 2nd period with four goals to eliminate the New York Rangers in five games, 6-3.
Bryan Rust & Connor Sheary combined for three goals during the 2nd-period explosion against New York's goaltender, Henrik Lundqvist and goalie Matt Murray made 38 saves as Pittsburgh got a bit of revenge against the Rangers, who knocked them out of the postseason in 2014 & 2015.
The Penguins will now face either Washington or Philadelphia in the conference semifinals. The Capitals currently lead the series 3-2 and look to finally wrapping it up this Sunday afternoon.
