AL defeats the NL once again at the All-Star Game, 4-2
Even though Tigers 1B Miguel Cabrera struck out in his only time at bat in the 8th inning, Kansas City teammates Eric Hosmer, who later became MVP, and Salvador Perez hit homeruns to help the American League defeat the National League in the 2016 MLB All-Star Game, 4-2, for their 4th straight win.
Boston's David Ortiz found himself in the middle of the most touching moment at Petco Park in San Diego, as he was embraced by his AL teammates near first base after exiting his final All-Star Game. "Big Papi" plans to retire at 40 after this season with the Red Sox.
With home-field advantage awarded to the AL in this year's World Series, Detroit, who are six & a half games out of 1st place in the Central Division, will get back to work this weekend when they host Kansas City at Comerica Park. The first game is set for this Friday at 7 pm.
