UNC-Asheville & Clemson advance to 2nd round

The 2011 NCAA tournament began in grand fashion when the UNC-Asheville Bulldogs defeated the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans 81-77 in overtime. With the win, the #16 Bulldogs advance to the second round to face the #1 Pittsburgh Panthers in the southeast region this Thursday at 3 pm ET in Washington, DC at the Verizon Center.

Later on that night, the Clemson Tigers made short work of the UAB Blazers 70-52. The #12 Tigers now advance to play the #5 West Virginia Mountaineers in the east region on Thursday at 12 pm ET in Tampa, FL at the St. Pete Times Forum.

Tonight, the first round action continues in the east region as UT-San Antonio faces Alabama State at 6:30 pm ET, followed by the matchup between USC & VCU at 9 pm ET in the southwest region.
