UTSA & VCU prevail in First Four games
The first round, a.k.a. the First Four in Dayton, OH has been completed. It started in the east region where the Roadrunners of UT-San Antonio earned their first ever NCAA tournament victory against the Alabama State Hornets, 70-61. #16 UTSA are celebrating now, but they will need to get back to business real soon, for their next opponent in the 2nd round are the #1 Ohio State Buckeyes. That game is set for Friday at 4:30 pm ET in Cleveland, OH at the Quicken Loans Arena.
In the nightcap, the VCU Rams proved to the critics that they belonged in the tournament after they broke loose in the 2nd half to defeat the USC Trojans, 59-46. The #11 Rams now look towards Friday night where they will face #6 Georgetown in the 2nd round at 9:45 pm ET in Chicago, IL at the United Center.
However, today begins the big portion of the tournament with 16 games set to play in the 2nd round. One of the them features #10 Michigan State going up against #7 UCLA in the southeast region at 9:20 pm ET from Tampa, FL at the St. Pete Times Forum. Today's tournament action begins at 12:15 pm ET when #5 West Virginia takes on #12 Clemson. In the west region, #13 Oakland & #8 Michigan will see action in seperate games on Friday at 12 & 12:30 pm ET respectively.
