Pistons honor Rodman at the Palace despite loss to Chicago, 101-96

It was a bittersweet night for the Detroit Pistons. NBA Champion Dennis Rodman was honored at the Palace of Auburn Hills, but it still didn't give the Pistons the push they needed as Chicago's Derrick Rose scored 27 points and seven assists to help his Bulls win, 101-96. At halftime, the Pistons, along with the original "Bad Boys", retired the #10 jersey in honor of Dennis Rodman, whose defense and rebounding helped Detroit win NBA championships in 1989 and 1990. It was also announced that Rodman would enter the Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2011. The official announcement is scheduled for Monday.

Richard Hamilton led all scorers with 30 points on 9-for-14 shooting and 11-for-12 from the free-throw line. Tayshaun Prince added 17 points and Will Bynum, getting a rare start, had 12 points. Detroit’s remaining seven games are all that's left after they were officially eliminated from playoff contention. The Pistons reached the postseason for eight straight years before falling short last season. Up next for the Pistons is a trip to Boston this Sunday evening to face the Atlantic Division champion Celtics at 6 pm ET.
