Bolts take command 3-0; Canucks take lead with OT win
Steven Stamkos and Ryan Malone scored 24 seconds apart in the third period as the fifth-seeded Tampa Bay Lightning beat the reeling Washington Capitals, 4-3 to take a commanding 3-0 series lead. Tampa Bay, which won the first two games of the best-of-seven matchups on the road, can advance to the Eastern Conference finals with a victory at home this Wednesday night in Game 4.
Ryan Kesler hadn’t scored a goal in the playoffs until now, and his second power-play goal at 10:45 of overtime lifted the Vancouver Canucks past the Nashville Predators, 3-2. They now lead the Western Conference semifinal series 2-1 with Game 4 to be played this Thursday night in Nashville.
