Tigers acquire David Purcey from A's for Scott Sizemore

The Detroit Tigers announced the club has acquired lefthanded pitcher David Purcey from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for second baseman Scott Sizemore. Additionally the Tigers recalled the contact of infielder Danny Worth from Triple A Toledo.

Purcey appeared in nine games with Oakland this season after he was acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays in a two-player deal on April 18, 2011 He compiled a 2.13 ERA Fanned seven batters and limited opponents to a .191 batting average during his stint with the Athletics.
