Dream win on the road; Minnesota holds on for the win
Lindsey Harding scored 10 of her 21 points in the fourth quarter and the Atlanta Dream rallied to beat the Connecticut Sun, 89-84 in Game 1 of their playoff series. Angel McCoughtry finished with 16 points despite missing most of the final period. Erika DeSouza & Armintie Price scored 14 apiece for Atlanta, and Sancho Lyttle had 13 points & 11 rebounds. Game 2 is this Sunday afternoon at 3 pm.
Lindsay Whalen scored 20 points and Seimone Augustus added 19 as Minnesota's MVP candidates carried the Minnesota Lynx past the San Antonio Silver Stars 66-65, in Game 1 of their WNBA Western Conference semifinal. Whalen also made the game's biggest defensive play to seal the victory. With 4 seconds left, the Silver Stars ran an inbound play on Minnesota's end of the court, looking for the game-winning shot, but Whalen tipped Danielle Robinson's entry pass to Maya Moore, who dribbled out the clock for the win. Game 2 is Sunday evening at 5 pm.
