Red Wings goaltender Chris Osgood has not decided on his future. If all goes well, he'd like to play another season. But he also realizes this might be his final year.
And if it is his last season, Tuesday was his last game in Edmonton. That made the 5-3 win even more special.
Osgood was born in northern Alberta and grew up near Edmonton as a big Oilers fan. He relishes every opportunity to play in front of family and friends at Rexall Place and doesn't know how many more chances he will get.
Osgood picked up his 401st career win. He is two behind former Oilers great Grant Fuhr, a player Osgood grew up idolizing, for ninth place on the all-time list.
Coach Mike Babcock originally planned to start Jimmy Howard. But he decided it would be best to give the slumping Howard a break. Babcock said Howard likely would start Friday in Calgary, but he hadn't decided yet.
