2011 MLB DIVISIONAL SERIES

The MLB Playoffs begin this Friday with the American League Divisional Series featuring two of the top pitchers in the AL in Justin Verlander & C.C. Sabathia as they the Detroit Tigers head to New York to face the Yankees in Game 1 at 8:30. But before they square off, Tampa Bay, after their late September surge to make the playoffs, head to Arlington to face the Texas Rangers at 5 pm for Game 1.

After the American League kick off the playoffs Friday, the National League will begin play on October 1st. The top seed Philadelphia Phillies will face the St. Louis Cardinals, whom they defeated to become NL East champions and, oddly enough, were responsible for helping the Cardinals make the playoffs after defeating the Atlanta Braves last Wednesday. Tiger intrigue is displayed as the Arizona Diamondbacks, lead by Tiger legends Kirk Gibson & Alan Trammell, take on the Milwaukee Brewers, lead by their power hitter Prince Fielder, who is the son of Tiger great Cecil Fielder.
