Slump continues as Red Wings fall to Calgary, 4-1
Jarome Iginla scored twice to help the Calgary Flames defeat the Detroit Red Wings, 4-1. Detroit has lost six straight (0-5-1) after winning its first five. The Red Wings held Calgary to 22 shots, but allowed four to go in for the loss.
Even though Danny Cleary scored the Wings' only goal in the 2nd period, Detroit has scored just six goals in its last six games. Against Calgary, the Red Wings were held to under 31 shots for the first time this season.
The last time the Red Wings went six games without a win was an 0-5-1 stretch in February 2008. Detroit would go on to win the Stanley Cup a few months later that year.
