Red Wings shut down Oilers, 3-0 for third straight win
Detroit's scoring depth and a solid effort from the penalty kill helped the Red Wings shutout the Edmonton Oilers, 3-0, for their third straight victory.
Drew Miller provided an early lead and Niklas Kronwall & Valtteri Filppula built on it, with Jimmy Howard helping out with some stellar saves, especially during a third-period Edmonton man advantage.
In a rare back-to-back setup at home, Detroit will turn right around and host the Pacific Division-leading Dallas Stars this Saturday night.
