Red Wings defeat the Oilers in overtime on the road 3-2.
Pavel Datsyuk was the hero Friday night scoring at 3:39 of overtime to give the Detroit Red Wings a 3-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers. The win snapped a three game losing skid for Detroit. Valtteri Filppula and Niklas Kronwall scored in regulation for the Wings and Jimmy Howard recorded 30 saves on the night. Edmonton got out to a 2-0 lead with 4 minutes left in the second period. The Wings stormed back to tie the game at two, and went on for the overtime win. Detroit now moves on for a Saturday night engagement in Vancouver with the Canucks.
