Jimmy Howard made 22 saves and Jakub Kindl & Cory Emmerton scored in the second period to lift the Detroit Red Wings over the Edmonton Oilers, 3-0, at the Joe Louis Arena. Justin Abdelkader’s empty-net goal help put the game out of reach.
The Red Wings are now 10-0-1 in its last 11 regular-season games against Edmonton and have gone five games without allowing a goal in the first or second period.
Up next for Detroit is a trip down to Columbus this Saturday afternoon to face the Blue Jackets at 2 pm ET.
